Inventory Manager

We are a 75 year old privately held company located in the heart of the picturesque Hudson Valley, New Windsor – New York - about 90 minutes north of New York City.

We have a rewarding and exciting opportunity for an Inventory Manager, which will monitor and report on the company’s inventory. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

The goal is to ensure that all business operations have adequate material to achieve their objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately accounts for issues, returns, receipts of new materials and associated back orders.
  • Enters essential data on all materials handled and adheres to strict accounting procedures.
  • Schedules and conducts weekly cycle counts of inventory materials based upon computer-monitored suggested re-order listing
  • Organizes and maintains warehouse areas for efficient material storage and handling.
  • Maintains computer system on each stock item.
  • Identifies causes of issues and implements process improvements
  • Keeps abreast of changes in inventory control best practices in order to educate staff and issue policy changes
  • Reviews inventory counts and balance accuracy
  • Enters data for quantities of parts issued and transferred between locations, inventory cycle count adjustments, into computer database
  • Troubleshoots quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and inspection personnel
  • Prepares monthly reports for cycle count an pick-lists count for monthly highlights
  • Presents reports and recommendations to management
  • Coordinates and participates in annual physical inventory
  • Supports department in handling materials (materials being received, issued stocked, and picked) utilizing forklifts and other equipment.

Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years experience as inventory manager or similar position
  • Bachelors’ degree in business administration, logistics or relevant field
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially excel)
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • CPIM certification a plus
